Yoga for Rejuvenation: Yin + Massage

DESCRIPTION

This 2 hour workshop is medicine for the soul. You can expect some mindful, grounding meditation, breathing practices, blissful gentle restorative & yin yoga poses and healing touch from two different body workers. The massage component will activate the sen/ energy lines in the body & various pressure points. The results will be soothing, helping to relieve stress and tension. All bodies, abilities and levels of experience are welcome in this inclusive, rejuvenating practice. Rebecca guides the YIN portion of the class while Lori and Jessica will focus on bodywork. You can let us know beforehand if you have any particular needs related to this session of healing work.

DESCRIPTION

As the summer transitions to fall, we invite you to make small shifts that support a balanced state of joy, inspiration and lightness of being. If you experience anxiety, dry skin, irritation, overwhelm, difficulty focusing, or sleeplessness as the seasons change, you are not alone. In fact, your experience is to be expected during this vata time of year… but it doesn’t have to be so uncomfortable! In this participatory workshop, we’ll discuss common wellness challenges that arise during this seasonal transition and provide simple, yet powerful, tools you can integrate to ensure you remain calm, grounded and nourished this fall. Walk away with your own clear and attainable fall routine that incorporates diet and daily rituals, a 4-page Ayurvedic Guide to Living in Autumn, and a body oil to ease you right into this series of simple new practices!

ABOUT YOUR TEACHERS:

Molly McConnell, RYT 500, and Sierra Brashear, MA, are both Clinical Ayurvedic Practitioners and graduates of Alandi Ashram’s 2,000+ hour, National Ayurvedic Medical Association certified program. In addition to their formal training, they have both experienced personal wellness transformations catalyzed by Ayurveda (for themselves as well as their clients), and are advocates for preventative wellness, social justice and body positivity in their daily lives. The two believe that self care is a radical act — reminding us that when we are vibrant and awake, we have the clarity and energy to show up for what we believe in.

As the season transitions from the long, hot days of Summer to the shorter, crisp days of Fall, we can begin to see the change all around and within ourselves. Fall is the time to release the fiery energy of transformation, set clear intentions, and align with nurturing practices and routines to carry you through the months ahead. Join us in celebration of the Autumn Equinox! Treat yourself to a grounding and deeply relaxing practice of Yin and Restorative Yoga tuned to the sounds and healing vibrations of two gongs, elemental chimes, chakra-tuned singing bowls, and other sacred instruments.
